Cisco Data Center Core (DCCOR 350-601): An Exam Overview

What DCCOR 350-601 is really testing

If you have landed here asking "How do I pass DCCOR 350-601 without wasting six months?", the honest answer is that this is a breadth exam. Cisco's Implementing Cisco Data Center Core Technologies (DCCOR) is the written core for the CCNP and CCIE Data Center tracks, and it deliberately spans five very different areas of a modern data centre. You are not being graded on how deep you can go into one product family. You are being graded on whether you can move fluently between Nexus fabrics, UCS compute, Fibre Channel, automation tooling and security controls without freezing.

That framing matters because it changes how you study, and it changes what a good practise exam for data centre work should look like. A drill that tests only NX-OS commands will flatter you. A drill that walks you across all five domains at their real weights will not.

The domains, at their official weights

Cisco publishes the domain split on the exam-topics blueprint. Below is the current breakdown, taken directly from that document. Weights are approximate and Cisco can revise them, so always sanity-check against the DCCOR 350-601 blueprint (v1.2) before your final study sprint.

If you are mapping out that final sprint, this free DCCOR study plan gives you a week-by-week path weighted by those official topics.

DCCOR 350-601 domain weighting
DomainWeight
Network25%
Compute25%
Storage Network20%
Automation and Artificial Intelligence15%
Security15%

Half the exam sits in Network and Compute. That is where most candidates already have day-job muscle, and it is also where a slip on VXLAN EVPN, OTV, or UCS service profile logic will cost you the most marks. Storage Network is the domain that surprises people who came in from a pure routing-and-switching background - Fibre Channel zoning, VSANs, NPV and NPIV behave nothing like Ethernet, and you cannot bluff your way through the questions.

Format, timing and the fidelity question

The live exam runs 120 minutes and blends multiple choice with performance-based items and drag-and-drop, plus Cisco's simulated lab tasks. That mix is important to understand before you sit down.

What this mock contains. The real 350-601 exam mixes multiple choice with performance-based items and drag-and-drop, and Cisco's simulated lab tasks cannot be reproduced here. Our Cisco DCCOR mock test is multiple-choice and multiple-response only. It covers every domain at its official weighting and matches the 120-minute limit. Cisco publishes no question count and no pass score for 350-601, so this mock reports proficiency per domain rather than a single score - a pass number would be invented, and we would rather tell you where you are weak than fake a percentage.

Before you commit to the full mock, a quick free DCCOR readiness check highlights the topic area that needs the most work.

If you want the drag-and-drop and simulated-lab practice, that has to come from Cisco's own official practice materials, a lab pod, or a home CML setup. The DCCOR 350-601 mock test earns its place as the volume driver: repeated, timed exposure to the concept mix so that on exam day the questions feel familiar in shape, not just in topic. Many candidates buy a mock test pack for exactly this reason - to get several full-length attempts under real time pressure before the Pearson VUE seat.

A study plan that respects the weights

  1. Read the blueprint end to end and mark every sub-topic you cannot explain out loud in two minutes.
  2. Spend your first four weeks on Network and Compute - VXLAN EVPN, ACI fundamentals, UCS Manager and Intersight. Half the exam lives here.
  3. Give Storage Network its own dedicated fortnight. Do not fold it into "networking" in your head.
  4. Treat Automation and AI as two weeks of Python-plus-Ansible-plus-model-driven telemetry, not a weekend of YAML.
  5. Finish with Security - RBAC, AAA, first-hop security on Nexus, and the ACI contract model.

Layer timed mocks on top from week three. Use each attempt as a diagnostic: which of the five domains dropped below your comfort line, and what specific sub-topic caused it. You can grab a DCCOR mock pack here and cycle through fresh sittings without seeing the same items twice.
