The exam is Administering Microsoft Azure SQL Solutions (DP-300), and it is aimed squarely at people who manage data platform resources on Azure day to day. It is not a theory quiz about databases in general. It leans on operational skills: securing environments, monitoring and tuning, automating routine work, and building for high availability and disaster recovery.
Microsoft scores DP-300 on a scale of 0 to 1000, and you need 700 to pass. That is not a percentage, so do not read 700/1000 as "70% correct" — it is a scaled score, and the mix of items you see is weighted toward the heavier domains. The domains and how they are weighted
Microsoft groups the objectives into five functional areas. The weights below come straight from the vendor's official DP-300 study guide, verified on 24 August 2026. Notice that security, monitoring and optimisation, and HA/DR each carry the most weight — plan your revision hours accordingly.

Format, timing, and an honest note on our mock

The real DP-300 exam may include interactive components — tasks you carry out against the product rather than answer as a choice — and this mock does not reproduce that interface. It covers every functional group at its published weighting, so your knowledge gets a full workout, but you will not rehearse the interactive tasks here. Treat those separately with hands-on time in an Azure environment.
Two more transparency points. Microsoft does not publish a fixed question count for DP-300, so the 50-item length is ours, chosen to match the exam's scope and pacing.
