Taking the SC-900 exam in Vancouver
The Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) is the same exam wherever you sit it. Microsoft publishes one blueprint, one time limit and one scoring model, so there is no Vancouver-specific version to prepare for. What changes from city to city is only how you book and where you sit.
Test centre or online from Vancouver?

Booking from Vancouver: time zone and currency
Vancouver is in Canada and runs on Pacific Time (PT). Exam slots on the booking page are shown in your local time, so pick a start time when you are normally alert. Microsoft shows the exam price for your country at checkout rather than publishing one worldwide figure, so candidates in Vancouver see the amount in their own region before paying. The cost and booking page covers retakes.
What the SC-900 exam covers
The paper is weighted by domain the same way in Vancouver as everywhere else:
| Domain | Weight |
|---|---|
| Describe the concepts of security, compliance, and identity | 12.0% |
| Describe the capabilities of Microsoft Entra | 28.0% |
| Describe the capabilities of Microsoft security solutions | 38.0% |
| Describe the capabilities of Microsoft compliance solutions | 22.0% |
The exam objectives page lists every objective under each domain.
Before you book from Vancouver
- Make sure the name on your Microsoft account matches your government ID exactly; a mismatch can stop you being admitted on the day.
- Decide between a test centre and online delivery before you pick a date, because the booking flow and the rules on the day differ.
- If you sit online, run the system check on the computer and network you will actually use, well before exam day.
- Book a slot in Pacific Time (PT) that suits you, and leave time for check-in before the start.
Preparing for the SC-900 in Vancouver
Courses and classroom training in Vancouver are one route; self-study works just as well if you follow the published objectives. Most candidates combine three things:
- The official objectives, domain by domain (exam objectives).
- A plan that gives the heaviest domains the most time (study plan).
- Timed mocks under real conditions (practice test), then targeted revision.
The exam-day guide covers ID checks and the rules for sitting online.
