The AWS cloud practitioner exam cost is US$100, charged by AWS at the time you book. AWS publishes only the USD list price on its certification page; local-currency pricing, including any India pricing, is shown at registration rather than published in advance. You book through Pearson VUE and can sit the exam at a test center or online with proctoring.
Once you know what the clf-c02 exam covers, the next practical question is what it costs and how to actually get a seat booked. This page walks through the AWS cloud practitioner exam cost, the booking process, and what changes if you retake it.
AWS cloud practitioner exam cost
The clf-c02 exam price is US$100, set by AWS and charged directly through their booking system. AWS does not publish a separate India price or other local-currency list on its main certification page — local pricing is shown to you at the registration step, and we have not independently verified those regional figures, so treat whatever price you see at checkout on AWS's own site as the accurate one for your region.
Is there a clf-c02 voucher?
Nothing in AWS's own published material for this exam mentions a discount voucher program, so this page does not claim one exists. If AWS or your employer offers a benefit like this, it will appear during registration on AWS's own booking flow — check there directly rather than relying on third-party claims of a voucher.
How to book the exam
You book the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam through Pearson VUE, AWS's testing partner. At booking you choose between two delivery options:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Test center | Sit the exam at a Pearson VUE test center |
| Online proctored | Sit the exam from home or another private location via Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring |
Both options use the identical exam: the same 65 questions, the same 90-minute duration, and the same scoring model described on the exam format page. Choosing between them is purely about convenience and your comfort with being monitored remotely versus in person — see the exam day page for what each option involves once your session starts.
Retakes
If you do not pass, AWS requires you to wait 14 calendar days before you can book another attempt, and there is no cap on how many times you can retake the exam — each attempt is charged at the full exam fee again. Once you do pass, AWS's policy is that you cannot retake the same exam for 2 years, unless a new version of the exam is released in the meantime.
Taking it from India
AWS delivers this exam through the same global Pearson VUE network used everywhere else, with both test center and OnVUE online-proctored options available. AWS does not publish a separate India price on its certification page, so candidates in India should check the exact amount shown at the registration step on AWS's own site rather than relying on an estimate here. Everything else about the exam — the 65 questions, 90-minute duration, and 700 passing score on the 100–1000 scale — is identical no matter where you book from.
What the fee includes
The US$100 fee covers a single sitting of the exam, whichever delivery option you choose. It does not vary by question difficulty, by how quickly you finish inside the 90-minute window, or by which of the four domains you are strongest in. There is no separate charge for receiving your pass or fail result, and no additional fee tied to the scoring itself — the same US$100 applies whether your final scaled score lands just above the 700 passing mark or well past it.
Budgeting for a possible retake
Because a retake is charged at the same US$100 rate with no discount, it is worth treating the exam fee as part of a two-step budget rather than a single guaranteed cost: the first attempt, and — if needed — a second attempt after the 14-day wait. Candidates who go in without a clear sense of their weakest domain are more likely to need that second attempt. Working through the study plan and a full practice test before booking is the most direct way to avoid paying the fee twice.
Before you book
Confirm you are ready by working through the exam objectives domain by domain, checking the informal experience guidance on prerequisites, and running a full-length practice test so the US$100 fee is spent on an attempt you are prepared for.
