AZ 104 Exam Cost and How to Book Your Attempt

Anyone researching az 104 exam cost quickly runs into the same problem: Microsoft's own certification page does not list a dollar figure. Instead it states that price is based on the country or region in which the exam is proctored, and the actual amount is shown to you inside the booking flow after you choose a location. This page explains what is and is not published, and walks through booking.

What Microsoft publishes about AZ-104 exam price

Microsoft's official AZ-104 certification page does not list a fixed price in US dollars, and it does not list a fixed price in Indian rupees either. The page instead states that price is based on the country or region in which the exam is proctored, which you see reflected once you sign in and select a test location during booking. We are not going to quote a third-party number here, because Microsoft does not publish one, and any number you see elsewhere claiming to be the official AZ-104 fee should be checked against the booking flow itself, not repeated from memory.

How to book the AZ-104 exam

AZ-104 is delivered through Pearson VUE. To book, you sign in with the Microsoft account linked to your certification profile, choose AZ-104, and pick either an in-person test center or Pearson VUE online proctoring. Both options draw from the same domains covered on the exam objectives page, so your preparation does not need to change based on which delivery method you choose.

Test center vs. online proctoring

Online proctoring through Pearson VUE is available for AZ-104, alongside in-person test centers. Choosing between them is mostly a question of your own setup: a private, quiet room with a reliable connection for online proctoring, versus travel to a physical location for a test center appointment. The exam-day guide covers what each option expects from you on the day itself.

Retakes

If you do not pass on your first attempt, Microsoft's retake policy allows a retake 24 hours after that failed attempt. Wait times for subsequent retakes vary, and Microsoft's general retake policy page is the source to check for the current rule if you need a second retake. A retake is a new booking at the full exam fee; Microsoft does not offer a discounted retake price for AZ-104 on its certification page.

Vouchers

Microsoft's AZ-104 certification page does not describe a voucher program on the page itself. If a voucher or exam-prep bundle is offered to you through an employer program or a Microsoft learning event, treat that as a separate offer from a specific source, not a standing discount published on the certification page.

Taking the AZ-104 exam from India

Pearson VUE operates test centers in India, and Pearson VUE online proctoring is available for candidates sitting the exam from India, subject to the same connection and environment requirements as anywhere else. Microsoft does not publish a separate, fixed India price on its certification page; as with every other country, the amount is based on the country or region in which you book the exam, shown to you during checkout. Budget for the exam fee as a single upfront cost, since Microsoft does not describe a rupee-specific voucher or discount scheme on the official page.

If you are still weighing whether this is the right exam for your background, the prerequisites page is a good next stop, and the study plan can help you decide how much runway you need before booking a date.

Exam facts on this page come from Microsoft’s own pages (official exam page). Prices, versions and policies change — confirm there before you book.
