AZ 305 Exam Cost and How to Book

How much does the AZ-305 exam cost?

Microsoft does not publish a fixed dollar price for Exam AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions. Its official exam page states that price is based on the country or region in which the exam is proctored, and the exact figure only appears once you sign in and start booking. This page will not guess at a number; if you want the current az 305 exam cost for your account, the official exam page is the source, and it will show the amount before you pay.

Taking it from India

Microsoft's AZ-305 exam page does not give an India-specific price or note, so this page does not invent one. What is confirmed is that pricing is based on the country or region where you sit the exam, and that both a Pearson VUE test centre option and Pearson OnVUE online-proctored option are available, so candidates in India can choose either format depending on what is available near them or what they are comfortable with at home. Confirm your exact price by signing in on the official exam page before you commit to a date.

How to book the AZ-305 exam

AZ-305 is delivered exclusively through Pearson VUE. You can sit it at a physical test centre or take it online with Pearson OnVUE proctoring from your own space, provided your setup meets Pearson's requirements. Both paths are booked from the same official Microsoft exam page, where you sign in with the account tied to your Microsoft certification profile, select a delivery option, and pick a date and time slot.

Before you book, confirm you are comfortable with the objective statements on the AZ-305 exam objectives page and that your background matches what the AZ-305 prerequisites page describes. Microsoft does not enforce a formal prerequisite for AZ-305, but the exam assumes advanced experience with Azure design decisions.

What happens if you fail and need a retake

If your first attempt does not pass, Microsoft requires a 24-hour wait before you can retake AZ-305. After that, if a second attempt also does not pass, subsequent retakes require a 14-day wait between attempts. Microsoft caps you at 5 attempts within a rolling 12-month period counted from your first attempt. Each retake is billed as a new exam at the price shown for your region at that time, so there is no separate discounted retake fee published for AZ-305.

Because a retake carries the full exam cost again, most candidates are better served by identifying their weakest domain before they sit the exam the first time. Our AZ-305 practice test breaks your score down by domain so you can see exactly where to focus before you book. For the scoring details behind a pass or fail, see AZ-305 exam pattern.

Budgeting the full cost of getting certified

The exam fee itself is only part of what candidates spend on the way to a pass. Factor in the time you will spend working through the objective statements, any official training material you choose to use, and the cost of a retake if your first attempt falls short. None of these additional costs are published by Microsoft as fixed figures either, so plan around your own study pace rather than a number this page cannot confirm. A realistic budget treats the listed exam price, whatever it turns out to be for your region, as the floor rather than the total cost of certification, and builds in room for at least one round of focused review on your weaker domains before the date you book.

Exam facts on this page come from Microsoft’s own pages (official exam page). Prices, versions and policies change — confirm there before you book.
